Learn About the Game 18 Goal Golf

You guide a virtual golfer across 18 holes. You choose an angle and set swing power with a moving bar. Wind gusts push the ball off course. Water, sand and trees stand between you and the green. The aim lies in finishing each hole with the lowest stroke count. One or two players take turns until all holes play out.

This title appeared in 1980 for home computers. APX published it and Gary S. Swart wrote every line of code. Its top-down view stays clear and simple. A joystick registers each swing’s direction and strength. Players track every stroke with standard golf scoring.

Breezes sometimes curve a drive into bunkers. Even a well-aimed swing can land the ball in a water hazard. You face a new challenge each time you step up to the tee. The lack of a narrative keeps attention on the sport itself.
